My First Featured Video on Instagram!

Woo hoo!!! I made it onto Zumba’s Instagram account with my very first #zmoji video! Check it out below:

I am pretty sure “Firehouse” + this routine is a fave amongst MANY Zumba Instructors who have listened to Zin 66 — it was definitely one of my favorite songs when I first watched it. 🙂

Zumba Ronnie’s 2 Hour Zumba Party Recap

The 2 Hour Zumba Party that took place yesterday at Rogers Park was SO MUCH FUN!!! It did not even feel like two hours of working out. It was definitely a party!

Zumba Ronnie is a pro at putting together these fun events. She was the host and had several guest instructors come help party with her. I was really excited to be one of her guest instructors! 🙂 I loved the other instructors’ energy + routines — FeliciaLance Zumba RoseJerod were definitely inspirational + motivational! And even though I was scared to battle — that was one of the funnest moments. The gym was pretty crowded… There were vendors and lots of Zumba Wear available for purchase.

One of my fave numbers was when Zumba Ronnie and her ZCrew *slayed* Beyonce’s Formation!

All the party-goers were so nice and ready to jam! No drama — just good old fashion fun with a whole lot of sweat! Another awesome part about this party was the live DJ — DJ Proyet — who was playing all of our songs… As well as all the lovely friends I made because of our love of Zumba Fitness!

Partial Playlist (what I can remember and not in any specific order):

  • Macarena – ZIN 64
  • Tippy Toe – ZIN 58
  • Shawty Got Moves – Get Cool
  • Another One Bites the Dust – ZIN 63
  • Mas Que Nada – Sergio Mendes
  • I Love Salsa – N’Klabe
  • Shaggy – I Got You
  • Wining Train – Mr. Vegas
  • It Takes Two – Rob Base + DJ EZ Rock
  • Bicicleta – Carlos Vives + Shakira
  • Formation – Beyonce
  • Gimme Dat – Ciara
  • The Bruk Out Song – RDX
  • Desde Esa Noche – ZIN 63
  • Baby Hello – Wande Coal
  • The Water Dance – Chris Porter
  • 24K Magic – Bruno Mars

I cannot wait for the next event! ^_^

Zumba Mega Mix 44 CD

Yippee! I received my very first ZIN cd in the mail! I’ve already started listening and have already picked out my jam!

Here is the tracklist, which includes a mix of genres via covers and there is even a Zumba original in there (#2):

  1. Sunny Sunny (Hindi Pop)
  2. Accordeon Dance (Russian Folk) by Zumba
  3. Swing (Country)
  4. Tangled Up (Tango)
  5. Lepo Lepo (Axé)
  6. Big Spender (Urban Burlesque)
  7. Tutti Frutti (Rock & Roll)
  8. Adicto (Reggaeton)
  9. Zumbalo (Coupé-Décalé) by Dexter Hamilton
  10. Good Time (French Dancehall) by Bel-Mondo
  11. Come Baby Come (Hip Hop)
  12. Yemaya (Merengue) by Amarfis Aquino
  13. Jumping (Soca) by Armando & Heidy

So far… Good Time is the song I am feeling the most! Of course I also can’t wait to dance to Yemaya, Jumping and Accordeon Dance. 🙂

Zumba Instructor Training

Well… It finally happened! I have been passionate about Zumba so much that it has lead me to overcome my shyness and sign up for the instructor training. I was always checking the instructor training schedule to see what was close by, but when I saw Gina Grant was teaching — I told my friend Taylor that THAT was the instructor I wanted to be taught by! I mean, she is definitely one of my faves… And she was nothing less than amazing!

Taylor and I signed up to take the full day training course and we graduated (along with the rest of the students who signed up)! Photos from a couple of months ago when we had our training day at Work Out World in Anaheim, CA:

I have since joined the Zumba Instructor Network (ZIN), created my Zumba website and I am listening to music to gather my playlist (and practicing my routines) in hopes of teaching soon… I hope I can find a job. O_O

Summer Shots | The Heatwave Show #17

I love this mix so much! This is my second time listening to this and I feel like dancing in the Caribbean Islands somewhere. This is a perfect mix of reggae and dancehall and soca and is a total package of summer sounds. 🙂

Mr. Vegas – Bruk It Down – Dancehall Funk class

I just saw artistpush’s post about Mr. Vegas – Bruk It Down’s reggae music video… Which led me to investigate further on YouTube. I found a class I would totally check out.

Maybe one night when I am bored, I will try to learn these moves since there is a tutorial! *Yes* 😀

Or maaaybe… Maaaaybe even take a Dancehall Funk class since it’s in North Hollywood!
